EMERGENT COHERENCE: The Spontaneous Appearence of New Order

I’ve been sitting today with a phrase that came to me a few years ago: emergent coherence. I have also played with calling it spontaneous emergent coherence and spontaneous coherent emergence. I can’t quite decide because they all work in their own way.

The idea is simple:

Sometimes order doesn’t have to be imposed. Sometimes, when the conditions are right, order arises on its own.

A flock of birds turns in the sky without anyone calling the turn. A school of fish changes direction as though it were one animal. Cells that begin as nearly identical somehow sort themselves into skin and liver and bone and brain. A wound closes. An ecosystem rebalances. Musicians listening deeply to one another suddenly lock into a groove that none of them could have produced alone.

In every one of these cases, there is no central commander directing the parts. Something else is happening: the parts are sensing each other, responding to each other, and out of countless local interactions, a larger coherent pattern emerges.

In our human systems, we tend to assume that order comes from control - that someone has to make the plan, establish the hierarchy, write the rules, manage the outcome, and make sure everything stays where it belongs. And sometimes structure really is useful. But nature seems to have another way of organizing things.

Instead of controlling every part from the outside, living systems often create conditions in which the parts can communicate with each other, and then let intelligence emerge from the relationships between them. This is self-organization, and once you start looking for it, you see it everywhere.

There is no CEO of a forest, no project manager instructing the mycelium where to grow, no foreman telling an embryo where to put the fingers, no conductor standing in front of a murmuration of starlings - and yet tremendously sophisticated organization arises. Not random, rigid, centrally controlled - rather, naturally coherent.

I think this distinction matters enormously right now, because so many of the structures we’ve built, in our organizations, institutions, healthcare systems, education, governments, families, even our own bodies, are based on a model of imposed order.

When something isn’t working, our instinct is to tighten control: add another rule, create another protocol, build another layer of management, try harder, push harder, hold everything together. And that can work for a while. But imposed order requires constant energy to maintain. Living order behaves differently.

It seems to arise from communication, responsiveness, relationship, and feedback. The system isn’t being held together so much as it is continuously finding itself. That’s a fundamentally different architecture, and perhaps a very different way of understanding what’s trying to happen in our world right now.

I’ve spent thirty years working with the human biofield, and one of the things that experience has taught me is that the body has an astonishing capacity to reorganize itself once interference is reduced. That’s an important distinction. We are not necessarily making the body coherent. Very often we’re simply helping remove what’s been preventing coherence from emerging in the first place.

Tension releases. Breathing changes. Circulation changes. Awareness returns to places that had gone numb or defended. The nervous system receives new information, and something begins rearranging itself, often without our doing anything to force it.

People will sometimes say after a session, “I don’t know what happened, but everything feels like it’s back where it belongs.” That sentence has always interested me. Back where it belongs, as though the system already knew where that was, as though coherence isn’t something we manufacture, but something the organism is continuously seeking on its own.

This brings me to another word I’ve been making use of since 2011: syntropy. Entropy describes the tendency toward dispersal and disorder. Syntropy (also known as negative entropy) points the other way: toward concentration, organization, relationship, and increasing complexity.

Life does something peculiar inside an entropic universe. It gathers. It organizes. It builds membranes, forms bodies, grows forests, creates nervous systems and languages and civilizations. It turns sunlight, minerals, water, and air into strawberries.

There’s an extraordinary inward-gathering tendency present in living systems, and I have come to see it as a kind of subtle magnetism - not magnetism in the narrow textbook sense, but an organizing attraction, the tendency of things that belong together to find their way into relationship.

Thoreau put it this way: “I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright.” That sentence has stayed with me for decades. Life contains organizing tendencies we haven’t yet learned how to adequately describe or measure, and maybe coherence is what we see when we give those tendencies room to operate.

Here’s an important distinction to make: coherence is not sameness. A flock of birds doesn’t become one giant bird. The individual birds stay individual. An orchestra doesn’t achieve coherence because every instrument plays the same note: the cello stays a cello, the trumpet stays a trumpet, the percussionist does something entirely different from the violinist.

Coherence arises because the differences become relational. Each part listens, adjusts, and keeps its own identity while participating in something larger.

That may be the most useful definition of coherence: distinct parts in right relationship. Not conformity, obedience or uniformity. Relationship. Which means healthy coherence requires both individuality and connection.

Too much individuality without relationship and the system fragments; too much relationship without individuality and the system turns rigid or authoritarian. Living systems somehow negotiate the space between the two. They remain many while becoming one.

I think this matters especially now, because we’re living through a moment when many of our old organizing structures seem to be under real strain. Our instinct is to assume that someone needs to figure out the new system, the new institution, the new model, the new rules, the new leader.

But I wonder whether at least some of what comes next will arrive differently. Maybe the future isn’t something that can be fully designed in advance. Maybe we’re already inside a process of emergent coherence: people finding one another, ideas cross-pollinating, old structures becoming too tight to contain what wants to grow, small networks forming, unexpected collaborations appearing, people listening more carefully to their own internal signals, connections forming across boundaries that used to seem fixed.

None of this looks especially dramatic on its own. But neither does a single bird changing direction. The pattern only becomes visible once enough of the system begins to move.

This is also why periods of transition feel so uncomfortable. Emergence often looks like disorder before the new pattern becomes apparent: the old configuration is losing coherence, the new one hasn’t fully formed yet, and there’s a space in between.

Human beings are generally not fond of that kind of uncertainty, so we rush to fill it: we make decisions prematurely, grip the old thing harder, try to predict the outcome, force a resolution.

But what if some moments call for a different skill? What if, instead of immediately asking how do I control what happens next, we asked: What is trying to organize here? What relationships are becoming more alive? What has become energetically expensive to maintain? What keeps falling apart no matter how hard I try to hold it together? What appears repeatedly without being forced? Where is there unexpected ease? Where is energy gathering? Where are people naturally finding one another? Where does the system seem to want to go?

Those are very different questions. They require listening rather than commanding.

The same thing applies inside us. Sometimes we try to change ourselves through force: be more disciplined, stop doing this, start doing that, fix the body, fix the mind, fix the habit, fix the problem.

But transformation doesn’t always happen because one part of us successfully dominates another. Sometimes change happens because enough internal pieces finally come into relationship.

We understand something we couldn’t understand before. A long-held tension releases. A feeling that had been excluded gets let back into the conversation. The body stops spending its energy defending an old pattern, and suddenly a new organization becomes possible.

Nothing had to be forced. The system simply reached a point where the old configuration could no longer sustain itself, and another pattern emerged in its place.

I’ve experienced this enough times now that I’ve become far more interested in creating conditions for coherence than in trying to force outcomes. That feels like an important difference and maybe one of the real invitations of this moment.

To become less obsessed with controlling the pattern and more skilled at participating in the field from which the pattern emerges. To become clear signals ourselves. To listen, to notice, to respond. To say yes when something genuinely resonates and no when it doesn’t. To release structures whose maintenance costs more energy than the life they support. To trust that not everything needs to be known before the next step can be taken.

Because emergence happens from the bottom up. One relationship. One conversation. One realization. One person finding their center, then another, then another, until something that could not have been planned suddenly becomes obvious. The flock turns. The music locks in. The scattered pieces find relationship. And what looked like chaos reveals itself as transition.

Maybe this is how a new world actually arrives: not fully formed, not handed down, not imposed. It simply emerges. And maybe our work isn’t to know exactly what it will become, but rather to become coherent enough ourselves that we recognize it the moment it begins to appear.

On Tuesday, the Dear Sisters sent you their report “Trump Wipes Out United Nations To Build New World Order”, wherein you can read the entire Board of Peace charter proposed by President Donald Trump that was enshrined into international law by the United Nations Security Council.

While an uneasy world looked on today, President Trump signed into legal force the Board of Peace charter, after which he proclaimed: “Once this board is completely formed, we can do pretty much whatever we want to do”—a proclamation followed by President Trump announcing Russia will join the Board of Peace and President Putin offering to give $1 billion to the Board of Peace.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos-Switzerland yesterday, and showing why he needs the Board of Peace to repair a fractured world, President Trump declared about socialist European leaders: “It’s horrible what they’re doing to themselves, they’re destroying themselves”, then his Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick harshly revealed: “The Trump administration and myself, we are here to make a very clear point: globalization has failed the West and the United States of America”.

In viewing the Board of Peace, which President Trump is the permanent chairman of, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz factually observed: “This new world of great powers is being built on power, on strength, and when it comes to it, on force...We have entered a time of great power politics”—Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney warned: “Let me be direct...We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition...Call it what it is: a system of intensifying great power rivalry where the most powerful pursue their interests using economic integration as coercion”—and the New York Times truthfully assessed: “We are living in a time of what’s been called radical uncertainty...We are in a transition in which the previous system is unraveling but we don’t yet know what comes next”.

If I were to describe to you a man born into vast family wealth and privilege, who basically coasted through life then unexpectedly rose into political power, through sheer force of will decided to remake his country into his own image, all while the rest of world was aflame in wars and conflicts, you’d be correct to assume that I’m talking about Donald Trump.

However, whom I’m describing is Otto von Bismarck, who single handedly took on all of the European powers in the 19th Century to create Germany and make it great—while watching America destroy itself in its Civil War, he believed in its future rise to power and observed: “God has a special providence for fools, drunkards, and the United States of America”—and 26-years before an assassination in the Balkans ignited World War I killing nearly 100 million, he warned: “One day the great European War will come out of some damned foolish thing in the Balkans”.

Exactly like Trump, it saw Bismarck strictly adhering to realpolitik instead of any ideology, with him stating: “When you want to fool the world, tell the truth”—Bismarck would fully support the Board of Peace created by Trump to repair the world, and factually declared: “The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions but by iron and blood”—and most assuredly, as the evidence proves, Trump has taken to heart Bismarck urgently advising all future world leaders: “The secret of politics?...Make a good treaty with Russia”.

With Bismarck most popularly known as the Iron Chancellor of Germany, today it can be rightly said that Trump has arisen to become the Iron Chancellor of the entire world—a fact that reminded me of the article “Biden Is Betting Americans Will Forget About Afghanistan”, which revealed: “People in and around the White House are relying on Americans’ notoriously short-term memory”—and is a fact that also reminded me about the article “Americans Read Headlines. And Not Much Else”, wherein it reported: “Roughly six in 10 people acknowledge that they have done nothing more than read news headlines...And, in truth, that number is almost certainly higher than that, since plenty of people won't want to admit to just being headline-gazers but, in fact, are”.

Because notoriously short-term memory Americans only read headlines and not much else, it was not surprising to see the news: “In 2025, over 17,000 jobs were cut across television, film, broadcast, news and streaming in the first 11 months of the year...This figure was up 18% from last year”, nor was it surprising to read the observation: “The clearest way to understand media in 2025 is simple...Journalistic authority ceased to be something earned through credibility and process and instead became something reflected through performance...What mattered most was not how the image was made, but how it looked when it reached our smartphones”.

As for myself, I can’t imagine a world where when the most momentous events in modern human history are occurring, people are willingly hiding themselves away from the truths and realities that will affect their lives, which at the same time destroys the careers of those few still trying to inform everyone about what is coming next based on a firm knowledge of history.

To global leaders gathering at Davos:

We are surprised that you have failed to answer a simple question that we have been asking for three years: when will you tax extreme wealth? If elected representatives of the world’s leading economies do not take steps to address the dramatic rise of economic inequality, the consequences will continue to be catastrophic for society.

Our drive for fairer taxes is not radical. Rather, it is a demand for a return to normality based on a sober assessment of current economic conditions. We are the people who invest in startups, shape stock markets, grow businesses, and foster sustainable economic growth. We are also the people who benefit most from the status quo. But inequality has reached a tipping point, and its cost to our economic, societal, and ecological stability risk is severe - and growing every day. In short, we need action now.  

Our request is simple: we ask you to tax us, the very richest in society. This will not fundamentally alter our standard of living, nor deprive our children, nor harm our nations’ economic growth. But it will turn extreme and unproductive private wealth into an investment for our common democratic future. 

The solution to this cannot be found in one-off donations or in philanthropy; individual action cannot redress the current colossal imbalance. We need our governments and our leaders to lead. And so we come to you again with the urgent request that you act - unilaterally at the national level, and together on the international stage. 

Every moment of delay entrenches the dangerous economic status quo, threatens our democratic norms, and passes the buck to our children and grandchildren. Not only do we want to be taxed more but we believe we must be taxed more. We would be proud to live in countries where this is expected, and proud of elected leaders who build better futures. As the wealthiest members of society, we would be:

• Proud to pay more to tackle extreme inequality. 

• Proud to pay more to help reduce the cost of living for working people. 

• Proud to pay more to better educate the next generation.

• Proud to pay more for resilient healthcare systems.

• Proud to pay more for better infrastructure.

• Proud to pay more for a green transition.

• Proud to pay more taxes on our extreme wealth.

The value of fairer tax systems should be self-evident. We all know that ‘trickle down economics’ has not translated into reality. Instead it has given us stagnating wages, crumbling infrastructure, failing public services, and destabilized the very institution of democracy. It has created a shameful economic system incapable of providing a brighter, more sustainable future. These challenges will only worsen if you fail to address extreme wealth inequality.

The true measure of a society can be found, not just in how it treats its most vulnerable, but in what it asks of its wealthiest members. Our future is one of tax pride, or economic shame. That’s the choice.

We ask you to take this necessary and inevitable step before it’s too late. Make your countries proud. Tax extreme wealth.

1. Use your own technique to bring you to a relaxed state of consciousness

2. State your intent to use this meditation as a tool to bring peace to different international situations, so that they can be resolved in the best possible way and ensure the smoothest path towards planetary liberation.

3. Invoke the Violet Flame and Emerald Ray from its primary source to place a circle of protection around you during and after the meditation. Ask them to transmute anything that does not serve the Light.

4. Visualize a pillar of pink Light, emanating from the Galactic Central Sun and then descending down through your body and deep into the center of the Earth.

5. Visualize this Light flowing through your heart and then through your hands directly to everybody involved in the situations between Russia, Ukraine and NATO, the situation between Iran and Israel, the situation between China and Taiwan, and also all other international conflicts, harmonizing everyone and bringing peace. Visualize these situations being dissolved, resolved and healed quickly and in the best possible way. Let the pink Light then flow onwards, healing all other conflicts worldwide. Visualize the Violet flame and Emerald Ray purifying the whole Middle East region and dissolving all causes of war.

6. Ask the Goddess presence (the Divine Feminine) to prevent the use of any nuclear weapons in the situation between Russia, Ukraine and NATO.

7. Then, ask the Goddess presence (the Divine Feminine) to direct energies of peace and harmony to all unresolved conflicts worldwide, including the situations between Russia, Ukraine and NATO, the situation between Iran and Israel, the situation between China and Taiwan, and everyone involved in any of these conflicts, especially protecting civilians from the military conflict in the Middle East and Ukraine. Visualize negotiations to resolve these conflicts resulting in lasting peace in the areas, and achieving world peace.

8. Let these energies then flow onwards and heal all other conflicts worldwide. Allow these energies to continue to flow through your heart and then through your hands into these situations for a few minutes.

A foreshadowing of things to come new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting President Donald Trump was welcomed to the Army-Navy football game with thunderous applause yesterday, says this cheering military celebration was joined by the Washington Post revealing: “Western officials are concerned by the secrecy surrounding meetings between Ukrainian negotiators and the FBI...Kiev’s lead negotiator, Rustem Umerov, has visited the US three times in recent weeks to meet with President Donald Trump’s top envoy, Steve Witkoff, and also held closed-door talks with FBI Director Kash Patel and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino”.

Last week, this report notes, President Trump issued the document “National Security Strategy of the United States of America”, wherein it declared the United States was abandoning foreign wars in order to solve its own problems—a document that followed President Trump issuing the memorandum “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence” on 25 September, wherein it warned: “Heinous assassinations and other acts of political violence in the United States have dramatically increased in recent years...Even in the aftermath of the horrifying assassination of Charlie Kirk, some individuals who adhered to the alleged shooter’s ideology embraced and cheered this evil murder while actively encouraging more political violence”.

To counter domestic terrorism and organized political violence, this report continues, United States Attorney General Pam Bondi issued the document “MEMORANDUM FOR ALL FEDERAL PROSECUTORS LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE GRANT-MAKING COMPONENTS” last week, about which was observed: “Attorney General Pam Bondi has ordered the FBI to compile a list of what the Justice Department is calling domestic terrorist organizations...Last week, Bondi sent a memo to all federal prosecutors and law enforcement agencies targeting a wide range of people, including those who hold what she calls extreme views in favor of mass migration and open borders; adherence to radical gender ideology, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism or anti-Christianity...The memo also targets people who show hostility towards traditional views on family, religion, and morality”—an observation joined by former United States Justice Department counsel for domestic terrorism Thomas E. Brzozowski warning the American peoples: “The Bondi memo functions as an operational order...It instructs agents, analysts, and grant makers what to do next and with whom, and those orders will hit real people and organizations almost immediately...If you were not already on high alert, you should be now”.

The unleashing of the FBI against the internal enemies of the United States and its way of life, this report continues, is actually noting new, as the FBI itself reveals: “The FBI began COINTELPRO—short for Counterintelligence Program—in 1956 to disrupt the activities of the Communist Party of the United States...In the 1960s, it was expanded to include a number of other domestic groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, the Socialist Workers Party, and the Black Panther Party”—and it was also revealed in 2020: “Portions of a long-secret government blueprint for expansive surveillance of domestic protest movements during the Nixon presidency have just been released, more than 50 years after it was drafted...The notorious “Huston Plan” prepared by representatives of the White House and the U.S. intelligence community envisioned a smorgasbord of covert operations that made even FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover queasy...The proposed activities ranged from monitoring domestic dissident groups — notably the Black Panthers — to office break-ins”.

The unleashed FBI tasked with enforcing the memo issued by Attorney General Bondi to round up, arrest and prosecute internal enemies, this report concludes, just fired FBI special agent Steve Friend for unauthorized contact with the media—a firing joined by award-winning American investigative journalist Lara Logan releasing her video “Who Really Runs The Government?”, wherein she interviews Federal Whistleblower attorney Dr. Timothy V.
