Lex Fridman’s Background
Lex Fridman, 41, was born in present-day Tajikistan and moved to the United States at age 11. His father, Alexander Fridman, was a leading plasma physicist in the Soviet Union and later taught at Drexel University in Pennsylvania, where Lex earned his undergraduate and doctoral degrees.
Fridman worked as a Machine Learning researcher at Google from 2014 to 2015. He then became a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The Lex Fridman Podcast’s Growth
Fridman launched his podcast in 2018, focusing on AI. The podcast now covers a wide range of topics, with over 400 episodes published. Fridman remains connected to MIT but is primarily focused on his podcast.
